Tips To Shake A Blog - Focus On Empathy

This will be a series on best practices for those willing to shake a blog.

Remember when you shake ur blog, you have to shake other's blog as well, and, you agree with the other blog owner that for every action, there will be an equal and opposite reaction. Here, the principle of "what you sow, that you shall reap" still applies, which is all within the boundaries of the golden rule, that you do to others what you want others to do to you.

So let me start the ball rolling, so to speak.

FOCUS ON EMPATHY

My first tip is that you should focus on empathy.

Empathy as used in this context is that of
putting yourself in someone else’s place and imagining how that person must feel.

Although the internet is a virtual world, most rules and principles in the real world still applies to this virtual world. When you empathize with the blog owner you're shaking with, there is a greater chance of you creating a long and fruitful relationship with that blog owner. It will make you feel better, knowing that you are doing good, based on what the other blog owner feels.

If applied consistently, focus on empathy will bring forth a better world wide web, where people are always trying to feel what other people are feeling. Everyone being more considerate of other's feelings.

So, let us take for example, a blogger who joins a networking community. Basic to this example is the fact that you are there to gain something from the community, regardless of what it may be. You join, interact with other people, and expect something in return. But what really should you expect from others....

To be continued...

Note: If you have thought on this subject you would like to share, questions or suggestion, I would really like to hear about it, so please leave a comment below. Thanks for dropping by and please come back for the continuation of this series.

Mark, I like your statement "what you sow, so shall you reap"! That is so true in all aspects of our lives.

I have met so many bloggers and visited so many sites due to joining communities like My Blog Log and Blogcatalog that I would have never found otherwise. We need to take the time to leave a comment and even mention other sites you have visited in your next blog post. Not just to send traffic but to share with others what you thought was useful or entertaining.

I have joined your community at Blogcatolog and subscribed to your blog posts, I look forward to reading more posts. You have made some great thoughts and ideas of how we can grow our readership. You can view my profile for a list of blogs I author.
